This bowl is part of my deeply fluted Agateware collection. I started with turquoise, blue and speckled white porcelain layered clays. I threw the bowl on a pottery wheel, trimmed it, then carved the fluid design. After the first firing, I glazed the bowl's interior with a reactive blue glaze. I sanded the exterior with diamond sandpaper to create a smooth touchable surface.
The bowl would be great to leave on a table with fruit in it or to serve salad or pasta.

Holds approximately 4 liters or 16 cups of food.
