This 18-ounce Neriage coffee mug is meant to be handled. I make these artistic mugs by creating my own colored porcelain, laminating the colors together, throwing it, and carving through the layers to expose the patterns beneath. After the first firing, I choose a glaze color that frames the layered colors. As a final step, I sand the exterior to make it smooth to the touch and seal the raw clay with food-safe liquid quartz.
