Ceramic Prep Bowls Set of 3, Wheel-Thrown Mise en Place Bowls, Green Agateware Spice and Condiment Bowls

These handmade ceramic prep bowls are perfectly sized for organizing ingredients before cooking. Use them as mise en place bowls for herbs, spices, minced garlic, chopped vegetables, sauces, garnishes or dipping condiments. Their small size also makes them useful as pinch bowls for salt and seasonings.

I created this set of three by laminating three contrasting colors of stoneware clay and throwing each bowl individually on my pottery wheel. After trimming and bisque-firing the bowls, I glazed the interiors and rims with a rich reactive green gloss glaze. The exposed clay layers create organic cream, brown and earthy stripes, giving each bowl its own distinctive pattern.

The bowls stack neatly for compact storage and bring the warmth of handmade pottery to everyday meal preparation.
