Handcrafted Porcelain Oil Dispenser 18oz Neriage Swirled Clay Japanese Pottery Olive Kitchen Bottle (D-46)

I made this oil bottle influenced by the colors of spring irises. It is meant to enhance your table as you share cooking with friends.

I make my neriage pieces by combining layers of clay that I color and laminate. I throw the layered clays into the bottle. After trimming, I carve through it to expose the layers that lie beneath the clay. After the first firing, I glaze the interior with a purple, food-safe glaze to make the exterior colors pop. After a second glaze firing, I sand the exterior with diamond-grit sandpaper to achieve a smooth finish. As a final step, I apply a food-safe liquid quartz coating to the exterior for long-term durability.
