Large Hand Thrown Pit Fired Vase

This white porcelain vase was thrown on a pottery wheel and fired in an electric kiln. Soluble salts were then added to the exterior and the vase was pit fired to bring out the various reactions that you see. The exterior was polished to bring out the colors. I then coated the interior with acrylic so that it can be a functional vase as well as a piece of art.
