Mica Clay Large Serving Bowl

This bowl sparkles! I threw this out of mica earthenware clay. I glazed the interior with a turquoise glaze. The exterior was left plain. When the sun hits it you will see the mica sparkles.

It would be great as a large salad or pasta serving bowl and would look pretty just sitting on your shelves until you use it.

How it was made:
I threw this bowl on an electric pottery wheel out of earthenware mica clay. After a first firing, the interior of the pot was glazed with a turquoise glaze and the exterior was burnished and left bare. The end result is a bowl to compliment food while letting the beauty of the clay show through.

Holds approximately 4 liters or 16 cups of food.
Made with high fire stoneware
