Handmade Neriage Travel Mug – 20 oz Carved Agateware Stoneware Coffee Mug with Lid

Three natural clay colors. One pottery wheel. Hundreds of beautiful layers revealed by hand.

This distinctive 20-ounce handmade neriage travel mug combines the natural beauty of colored stoneware with traditional pottery craftsmanship.

I create each mug using three different stoneware clays — dark chocolate brown, warm red, and creamy white. I combine the clays and throw them on my pottery wheel, creating beautiful layers and patterns throughout the mug's walls.

Once the clay reaches the leather-hard stage, I carefully carve into the surface, revealing the intricate patterns hidden beneath.

The result is an organic, almost geological design reminiscent of natural stone, wood grain, and the earth's layered colors.

A rich reactive blue glaze, which I formulate myself, completes the interior and upper portion of the mug, beautifully complementing the earthy clay colors.

No printed patterns. No painted imitation marble. The design is created entirely from the natural clay itself.
